Mr. Wang has been my research assistant of the National Science Council's project "The United States and the United Nations' Financial Crisis: The Role of U.S. Congress" since September 1997. 其實(shí)，只要多用一點(diǎn)心思，換個(gè)觀察角度，單純、瑣碎的助理工作一樣也可以表現(xiàn)出這名申請者在與研究所有關(guān)方面的能力。比方說，推薦人不妨強(qiáng)調(diào)他之所以雇用這個(gè)人為研究助理，是因?yàn)檫@個(gè)助理以前曾做過與他目前的研究領(lǐng)域相關(guān)的怎樣的報(bào)告，表現(xiàn)出申請者在這個(gè)研究領(lǐng)域已具備的基礎(chǔ)知識或是研究潛力。又以資料搜集的工作為例，可以強(qiáng)調(diào)這個(gè)這個(gè)申請者如何善用某些方法，將資料作有系統(tǒng)的分析整理等。
