A Comparative Study of Spring Festival and Christmas
Abstract

Festival，which reflects the most delicate and representative respect of culture, is the essence of human’s daily life. Spring Festival and Christmas are the most important festivals in China and Western countries, which can be described as the representatives of a culture; it is a typical exploration of the cultural differences between the Chinese and western festivals. It is convenient to absorb the outstanding foreign cultures sensibly by summarizing the differences, in order to protect and promote the cultural essence of the Chinese nation. As we all know that China is known by foreigners after she entered the WTO and Beijing won the 2008 Olympic Games. However, the Chinese traditional cultures are generally ignored by our Chinese, especially the youth. In terms of this problem, this thesis gives some advices. The thesis is divided into four parts. Firstly, it provides a comparative discussion on cultural aspects through Spring Festival and Christmas; then makes a comparison on different values between Chinese and Westerners, and last concludes a best way to deal with western culture.

摘  要

節(jié)日是人類日常生活的濃縮和精華,反映出1個民族文化中最精致,最具代表性的1面。中國的春節(jié)、西方的圣誕節(jié)分別是中西方兩個重要的節(jié)日，具有中西方文化的代表性，是探討中西方節(jié)日文化習俗差異的典型。研究差異有助于更好地、較理性地借鑒和吸取外來文化中的優(yōu)秀成果，借鑒西方人的積極價值觀，保護和弘揚中華民族的文化精髓。眾所周知，在中國加入世貿(mào)組織、北京申辦第2109屆奧林匹克運動會獲得成功后，中國已經(jīng)被更多的人認識、了解，而在現(xiàn)今中國社會卻呈現(xiàn)出了中國傳統(tǒng)文化趨于淡化的現(xiàn)象，尤其體現(xiàn)在年輕1代。本文通過對中西方春節(jié)與圣誕節(jié)的對比研究，較詳細的總結(jié)了中西文化的差異，以及文化差異背后所體現(xiàn)的價值差異，并提出了吸收和處理西方文化的方法。
